Kill the Boy Band by Goldie Moldavsky

Just know from the start that it wasn’t supposed to go like this. All we wanted was to get near them. That’s why we got a room in the hotel where they were staying.

We were not planning to kidnap one of them. Especially not the most useless one. But we had him—his room key, his cell phone, and his secrets.

We were not planning on what happened next.

We swear.

I thought this book was going to be a cutesy YA story about a bunch of silly girls.  However, it was not that.  The was a dark humor type book with a lot to say about boy bands and the girls that love them.

This is about a group of girls that are serious fans of The Ruperts.  The band is named The Ruperts because all the boys in the band are names Rupert.  Fans of the Ruperts are called Strepurs, because that's Rupert spelled backwards.  I thought that was pretty funny.  Anyway, this group of girls book a room in the same hotel as The Ruperts.  One of the girls kidnaps the "ugly Rupert", you know every boy band has one that isn't as attractive as all the rest.  The rest of the story is a slapstick type comedy about the girls trying to decide whether to keep him or let him go, and what happens when they keep him.

I would definitely recommend this book to all the fan girls.  It had a lot of insight about what makes these girls tick.  It was a fun book to read.
